Applications are now open for prospective students seeking admission into Ghana’s 46 public Colleges of Education for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Programme Offered
- A four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree across various specialisations.
- Certificates awarded by affiliate public universities.
2. General Admission Requirements
WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants:
- WASSCE: Credit passes (A1-C6) in six subjects—three core (English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three relevant electives.
- SSSCE: At least credit passes (A-D) in six subjects, including the same core and elective structure.
GCE Advanced Level Applicants:
- Passes in at least three subjects (one with a Grade D or better).
- Credit passes in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects, including English, Mathematics, and a Science or Social Science subject.
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Applicants:
- Certificate II qualification in three relevant trade areas.
- Alternatively, a National Board for Professional and Technicians Examination (NABPTEX) qualification in a related field.
Special Entry Requirements for Persons with Disabilities:
- Visually impaired applicants can apply to N.J. Ahmadiyya College of Education (Wa), Wesley College of Education (Kumasi), and Presbyterian College of Education (Akropong).
- Hearing-impaired applicants can access facilities at the Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong.
3. Online Application Process
- Purchase an e-voucher at GH₵350 from Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) or through MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, or AirtelTigo Money.
- Complete the application online at https://admission.coeportal.edu.gh.
- Print the completed form, attach a passport-sized photograph, and send it via EMS to the principal of your first-choice college.
- Admission notifications will be sent through SMS.
