The Board Chairperson of Ghana Post Company Limited, Petra Aba Asamoah, has urged management and staff to embrace innovation, teamwork, and renewed commitment as the company works to strengthen its position in an increasingly digital marketplace.
She made the call at the first Ghana Post staff durbar held at the company’s Head Office in Accra, where she praised employees for their dedication and contribution to the organisation’s progress despite the challenges facing the postal sector.

Ms Asamoah expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in her and the Board, and to the Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation for his continuous leadership and support for the sector.
Speaking on the future of the postal industry, she said Ghana Post must adapt to global changes driven by technology and shifting trade dynamics.
“We operate in a rapidly changing world where technology is redefining the way we communicate and do business,” she said, adding that: “these challenges, however, present opportunities for growth and innovation.”
She noted that global developments, including changes in trade policies and the recent removal of the de minimis threshold for duty-free shipments, had affected Ghana Post’s operations over the past two months. However, she added that there were signs of improvement as the company adjusted to the new conditions.
Highlighting opportunities for growth, Ms Asamoah said the rise of e-commerce presents a unique chance for Ghana Post to expand its services and customer base.
“Ghana Post is well-positioned to capitalise on this trend. We have the network and the expertise, and we have the opportunity to become the last-mile partner of choice,” she stated.
She explained that the Board’s immediate focus was to implement strategic measures aimed at improving operational efficiency, enhancing service delivery, and driving growth for clients and stakeholders.
“These measures will strengthen our capacity to provide efficient, reliable and cost-effective delivery solutions. They will also help us build stronger relationships with our partners and customers,” she said.

According to Ms Asamoah, the company’s vision aligns with President Mahama’s reset agenda, which prioritises economic revitalisation, institutional reforms, and job creation: “Our goal is to make Ghana Post a digitally aligned, modern, and commercially viable organisation that meets the evolving needs of our customers.”
She further assured management and staff of the Board’s continued support and encouraged employees to work together towards achieving the company’s shared goals.
“Let us strive to make Ghana Post a beacon of efficiency, innovation and customer satisfaction. Together, we can build a brighter future for ourselves, our customers, and the nation,” she urged.
