The National Illegal Mining Operations Task Force (NAIMOS) has apprehended a notorious nine-member syndicate embroiled in galamsey activities within the Atwima Mponua Forest Reserve’s Anhwiafutu Forest Belt.
Following a meticulously executed operation, the suspects were initially detained at the Kumasi Central Police Station before being transferred to Accra to face thorough investigations by the Ghana Police Service. Presently, five suspects are being held in custody at the Kotobabi Police Station, while four others are incarcerated at the Cantonments Police Station.
