The Ministry of Transport will host the first-ever Ghana Transport and Logistics Fair from 22nd to 24th October 2025, aimed at transforming the nation’s transport landscape and driving sustainable economic growth.
The Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Radio Gold’s Patrick Asford Boadu.
According to him, the Ghana Transport and Logistics Fair 2025 is where “innovation meets opportunity,” creating a platform to reset Ghana’s transport sector for future growth and investment.
“This is to have an integrated multimodal transport system that connects rail, maritime, aviation, and roads,” the Minister explained.
He cited the Tema–Mpakadan rail line as a prime example of multimodal connectivity in action.
“The rail line ends at Mpakadan, then goods are transported via the Volta Lake to Buipe, where they can continue by road to Tamale, Bolgatanga, or even Burkina Faso,” he elaborated.
Hon. Nikpe emphasized that this initiative forms part of President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to modernize and integrate Ghana’s transport system for greater efficiency and competitiveness.
“We are implementing the President’s vision, and that is what we intend to showcase through the Ghana Transport and Logistics Fair 2025,” he said.
The Minister further explained that the policy component of the fair would focus on the future of Ghana’s transport system, bringing together key stakeholders to deliberate on innovations and strategic direction.
The dialogue sessions will feature representatives from government institutions, academia, local and international partners, and other industry players who share a vested interest in the transport and logistics sector.
“We want to have a successful fair that will impact the Ghanaian economy, create opportunities for stakeholders, attract investments—especially from financial institutions—and ultimately generate jobs,” Hon. Nikpe stated.
The Ghana Transport and Logistics Fair 2025 is expected to serve as a pivotal platform for collaboration, investment, and innovation in Ghana’s transport and logistics ecosystem.
