Vice-President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has left Accra for Luanda, Angola, where she is expected to represent President John Dramani Mahama at the 7th African Union–European Union (AU–EU) Summit, taking place from 24 to 25 November 2025.
A statement issued on Sunday by Ama Pratt, Press Secretary and Spokesperson at the Office of the Vice President, confirmed the Vice President’s participation in the high-level gathering, which brings together African and European leaders to discuss shared global challenges and strengthen cooperation between the two continents.
According to the statement, Professor Opoku-Agyemang will deliver Ghana’s national address at the summit. Her presentation will outline the country’s priorities in economic stability, job creation, food security, climate action, peace and security, and value-chain development.
She is expected to highlight Ghana’s policy direction under the Resetting Ghana Agenda, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to international partnerships that support sustainable development.
The AU–EU Summit serves as a platform for both blocs to review joint programmes, assess progress, and define strategies in areas such as governance, trade, regional security, migration, and technological cooperation.
