The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has stated that Ghana is at a critical crossroads and the citizens must make the right choice by voting for the NDC for the future of the country.
He reiterated the readiness of the NDC to “reset” the country urging chiefs in the Central Region to align with his party in the upcoming elections.
Mr. Mahama was speaking at a ceremonial event aimed at officially presenting his running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, to the Central Regional House of Chiefs.
Professor Opoku Agyemang, the first female running mate for the NDC, was introduced as a beacon of hope for gender inclusivity and progressive leadership.
John Mahama praised her commitment to education and social justice, asserting that she is the right partner to help drive the party’s vision forward.
“Ghana needs a reset urgently, there is so much work to do, and Naana and I are ready for the task. I am confident that with her experience, intellect, and passion for education and social justice, she would bring valuable insight and perspective to our efforts to build the Ghana we want together” Mr. Mahama said.
John Mahama also underscored the critical role traditional leaders play in shaping the political landscape and mobilizing community support for development.
He called upon the chiefs to lend their influence to the NDC, stating that their backing would be instrumental in ensuring a prosperous future for Ghana.
The chiefs also expressed their willingness to support the NDC’s efforts, recognizing the party’s historical contributions to the development of the Central Region and the nation at large.
On her behalf, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the chiefs, her family, and members of her political parties.
