Former President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, has encouraged victims of the DKM Microfinance collapse to demand their locked-up funds. During community engagements in the Nkroranza North Constituency, Mahama stated that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is aware of the individuals responsible for the financial fraud.
Mahama argued that Bawumia’s recent association with the owner of DKM Microfinance, who is allegedly funding his campaign, contradicts previous claims that Mahama and his wife, Lordina, were connected to the owner. He emphasized that the truth has finally been revealed, and victims should demand answers from Bawumia about their investments.
The collapse of DKM Microfinance in 2015 left thousands without their investments, which Mahama claims are now being used to support Bawumia’s campaign. Additionally, Mahama criticized the ruling government for canceling road contracts initiated by the NDC in 2016, promising that his administration would continue and invest heavily in infrastructure development. He called for unity within the NDC to secure a resounding victory at the polls.
