The Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mawutor Agbavitor, has assured residents of the Volta Region that they will receive a fair share of government appointments under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
His assurance comes on the heels of concerns raised by party members about the region’s perceived underrepresentation in previous appointments.
In a statement issued and copied to Radio Gold, Mawutor Agbavitor noted that the region’s overwhelming support during the 2024 elections, securing over 90% of the votes for the party, will not be overlooked.
“The Volta Region will be considered for appointments in the new NDC administration without fail,” he stated, highlighting the region’s critical role in the NDC’s success.
The region won all 18 parliamentary seats and recaptured the Hohoe constituency, while also reducing the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) influence by 47%.
Chairman Mawutor Agbavitor reaffirmed the NDC party’s commitment to recognizing the steadfast loyalty and hard work of the Volta electorate.
“Our meaningful contributions shall be rewarded accordingly.” he said.
He urged party members to maintain realistic expectations as the administration begins to make appointments, assuring them that leadership will work diligently in the interest of both the party and the people of the Volta Region.
