Combined youth group from Nungua and La in the Greater Accra Region have sent a word of caution to the Member of Parliament for Assin Central to stay away from their lands.
The group led by Nii Okpoti Tatse is alleging that the MP is using his position as a member of the New Patriotic Party’ government with state protection to forcefully and unlawfully claim lands which belong to the Gas.
They explained, the said land situated at East Legon, near the under-bridge is a boundary area between La and Nungua of which both have separate judgements from the law court.
According to the group, an investor, Osa mensah, who have received approval from the owners of the land to start developing it, was attacked whiles on the land by some thugs and land guards allegedly sent by Kennedy Agyepong.
The group also alleged that Kennedy Agyepong on Saturday 18th July 2020 went to the site with four military and police patrol team with some macho men and bulldozers to demolish all construction works done on the piece of land.
Nii Tatse alleged that the MP for Assin North took siege of the land amid fierce resistance where his land guards engaged the Regional Police in an exchange of fire at the East Legon site.
The group also stressed that all efforts to find out who sanctioned the military and the police for such operation from their respective high command remain futile.
It therefore indicated that the owners of the land have lodged a complaint against Kennedy Agyepong and his thugs to the police for onward legal action.
Meanwhile the youth together with priests and priestesses are warning the Assin North MP to stay away from their land which they claim belongs to the Ga Dangbe.
They are therefore calling on the Speaker of Parliament and the President of the Republic of Ghana to intervene and ensure that Kennedy Agyepong is brought to book.
