A Lecturer at the School of Planning of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Camynta Baezie has questioned President Akufo-Addo’s involvement in the compilation of the NPP 2020 manifesto.
President Akufo-Addo in an interview with ATL FM, a day to the launch of the NPP manifesto, raised questions with the feasibility of the demand for the construction of an airport in Cape Coast.
The President in the interview pointed to Cape Coast’s proximity to Accra and Takoradi as reason for the demand to be properly examined.

Residents of Cape Coast however witnessed a significant u-turn in less than 24 hours, when the Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia announced at the manifesto launch of the NPP that an airport and a harbor will be commenced in Cape Coast if the NPP is given a second term.
Dr. Camynta Baezie in an interview with Sena Nombo on the Gold Power Drive said the contradictions are worrying.
According to him, the President demonstrated a lack of awareness of the Vice President’s promise in his ATL interview.
He said the President should have been aware of such a significant promise and his lack of awareness of such a significant promise is evidence of the fact that “we are living in a directionless nation.”

Dr. Baezie said the question of “who is in charge of the country” can also be raise as a result of the entire Cape Coast Airport affair.
He is of the opinion that the development is a clear indication that the “promise is not worth the ink and space it was written on.”
