Ghana’s First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama, has joined her counterparts at the 30th Ordinary Assembly of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), being held on the margins of the 39th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Addis Ababa.
The two-day gathering is taking place under the theme “Building Resilience,” with discussions centered on strengthening African communities in the face of current global and continental challenges, including economic pressures, health risks, climate change, and social inequalities.
Following the opening session, the First Ladies and their technical advisors held a closed-door meeting to deliberate on priority development initiatives before joining their spouses for the official opening of the AU Summit.
Mrs. Mahama, widely recognized for her advocacy in women’s empowerment, child welfare, and community development, is expected to address the Assembly on Sunday.
Her participation underscores Ghana’s continued commitment to advancing social development and inclusive growth across the continent through high-level advocacy and partnership.
