A ten-member task force comprising seasoned professionals and key stakeholders in Ghana’s aviation industry has been inaugurated to spearhead critical reforms and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the sector.
The task force is chaired by Mr. Charles Asare, former Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).
The diverse composition of the team reflects the government’s commitment to drawing on deep industry expertise and cross-sector collaboration.
Other prominent members of the task force include Mr. Hugh Tamakloe, Mr. Benjamin Ahlijah, and Madam Patricia Bonsu. The Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Rev. Stephen Arthur, is also serving on the team, alongside the current Managing Director of GACL, Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare.
Adding further depth to the task force are Madam Joyce Bawa Mogtari, a legal expert and former Deputy Minister of Transport; Mr. Daniel Acquah, former Deputy Director-General (Technical) of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority; and Mr. Eric Tetteh-Addison of the Ministry of Transport.
The task force is expected to provide policy recommendations, review current aviation frameworks, and support the implementation of strategic projects aimed at positioning Ghana as a regional aviation hub.
