President John Dramani Mahama is continuing his nationwide “Thank You Tour” today, Thursday, May 15, 2025, with a visit to the Upper West Region.
This tour is part of his initiative to express gratitude to the chiefs and people of the region for their support during the 2024 general elections, where he secured a decisive victory as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer.
The day’s activities are scheduled to begin with President Mahama’s arrival at Wa Airport, followed by a public engagement at Jubilee Park in Wa.
During the event, he is expected to address party faithful, traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and members of the public, celebrating the region’s consistent support and strengthening ties between the NDC and its grassroots base.
The Upper West Region, long considered a stronghold of the NDC, played a crucial role in securing wins for both the presidential and parliamentary candidates during the last election.
President Mahama has already toured several regions as part of this post-election initiative, including, Volta, Central, Western, Upper East and Northern regions.
His stop in the Upper West Region is expected to deepen the party’s engagement with local communities and set the stage for the NDC’s future political activities, including the 2028 polls.
Tomorrow, Friday, May 16, President Mahama is scheduled to continue his “Thank You Tour” in the Greater Accra Region
