President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, March 19, continued Day Two of his working visit to the Bono Region with a series of project inspections and citizen engagements in Sunyani.
The President began the day at Sunyani Senior High School, where he inspected ongoing GETFund infrastructure projects aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions.
Speaking during the visit, President Mahama stressed the importance of investing in education infrastructure.
“Improving the environment in which our students learn is critical to building the human capital we need for national development. These projects must be completed on schedule and to the highest standards,” he said.
He later inspected construction works on the Sunyani Outer Ring Road, describing the project as essential to easing congestion and supporting economic activity in the municipality.

“Road infrastructure remains a key pillar of our development agenda. This outer ring road will significantly improve mobility and open up the municipality for business growth,” the President noted.
As part of his tour, President Mahama also visited the proposed site for the Sunyani Airport, a project expected to enhance regional connectivity and stimulate investment.
“The development of an airport in Sunyani will be a game-changer for the Bono Region. It will boost tourism, facilitate trade, and attract investors into this part of the country,” he stated.
The President is currently engaging residents, students, and stakeholders at the University of Energy and Natural Resources under his ‘Resetting Ghana’ Citizen Engagement series.
Addressing participants, he reiterated his administration’s commitment to accountability and inclusive governance.
“This engagement is about listening to the people, accounting for our stewardship, and ensuring that governance reflects the needs and aspirations of Ghanaians,” he said.
Later in the day, President Mahama is expected to present grants to 475 beneficiaries under the Adwumawura Programme, a flagship initiative designed to promote entrepreneurship, create jobs, and empower young people across the country.
“Through the Adwumawura Programme, we are investing directly in the entrepreneurial potential of our youth to drive innovation and job creation,” he added.
The second day of the President’s visit underscores a broader focus on infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and direct citizen engagement as part of efforts to advance inclusive growth in the Bono Region.
