Energy Minister John Jinapor has reiterated that Ghana is not experiencing load shedding and that the country has sufficient power generation capacity to meet demand.
In a Facebook post on Friday, January 30, the Minister said he met with the leadership of key power sector agencies to review the current state of electricity supply nationwide.
He stressed that there has been no load shedding for more than 10 months and that there is no power generation deficit.
Mr Jinapor, however, acknowledged reports of frequent power outages in some parts of Accra and Kumasi. He explained that these incidents are not due to inadequate power generation but are operational challenges within the system.
According to the Minister, he has instructed the relevant agencies to urgently submit a clear and time-bound plan to address the outages and restore a stable power supply in the affected areas.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring reliable and uninterrupted electricity for all Ghanaians, assuring the public that steps are being taken to resolve the reported challenges as quickly as possible.
