Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is in Brussels, Belgium, leading a government delegation to the 2025 edition of the Global Gateway Forum, a major international event organized by the European Union (EU).
Scheduled for October 9th and 10th, the two-day Forum will convene Heads of State and Government, corporate executives, civil society leaders and global financial institutions to explore new approaches to international cooperation in an increasingly complex world.
This year’s conversations will center on enhancing global connectivity with a focus on digital transformation, green energy and sustainable infrastructure amid shifting geopolitical and economic dynamics.
The Global Gateway serves as the EU’s strategic framework for fostering smart, clean and secure linkages across the digital, energy and transport sectors while also bolstering education, health and research systems globally.
Through this initiative, the European Union seeks to mobilize up to €300 billion in investments to advance sustainable and inclusive development around the world.
The inaugural Global Gateway Forum, held in 2023, underscored the EU’s renewed commitment to fair and mutually beneficial partnerships, particularly with nations in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
