Speaking at the June 4 uprising commemoration event held under the theme “Unity, Loyalty, and Vigilance for Election 2024,” Goosie Tanoh, a former National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential aspirant boldly predicted that the NDC would emerge victorious in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Mr. Tanoh also expressed his belief in former President John Dramani Mahama’s ability to successfully lead Ghana once again.
Addressing the audience gathered to commemorate the historical event that catalyzed significant change in Ghana’s political landscape, Goosie Tanoh emphasized the need for unity, loyalty, and vigilance, citing the country’s present challenges and the importance of addressing them effectively.
Reflecting on the period leading to the June 4 uprising, the seasoned politician recounted the dire state in which Ghana found itself 45 years ago.
He said Ghana then was grappling with a deep economic crisis marked by widespread unemployment, particularly among the youth, and crippling poverty.
Corruption was rampant, economic mismanagement was prevalent, and the Ghanaian currency was struggling to retain its value.
“The June 4 uprising serves as a reminder of the power of the people to effect change in the face of adversity. Today, our country is confronted with similar challenges. However, we must remain united, loyal, and vigilant to overcome them,” Goosie Tanoh passionately remarked.
Highlighting the NDC’s commitment to addressing these issues, Mr. Tanoh expressed his confidence in the NDC led by former president John Mahama to secure victory in the forthcoming 2024 elections.
“We will win the 2024 election and John Mahama will become of Ghana again. We are determined to restore dignity, create jobs, fight corruption, and uplift our economy,” he stated.
Mr. Tanoh firmly asserted that former President John Mahama possessed the requisite experience and capabilities to efficiently govern Ghana once again.
He praised Mahama’s previous tenure, lauding his efforts in implementing critical developmental projects across various sectors and championing social interventions to improve the lives of Ghanaians.
He expressed confidence that the future NDC government will reignite hope and pave the way for sustained economic progress.
