The vice presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Opoku Agyemang has called on Ghanaians to critically evaluate their living conditions and make informed choices in the upcoming December elections.

Addressing chiefs and community members in several constituencies as part of her campaign tour of the Central Region, Professor Opoku Agyemang said the rallying cry from the majority of Ghanaians is “shwe wa sitinamu n3 tu aba pa,” meaning “check your standard of living and vote wisely.”

During her interaction with market women, artisanal fisherfolks, and stakeholders, Professor Opoku Agyemang underscored the economic challenges faced by many Ghanaians, asserting that the country is in urgent need of robust leadership to facilitate a genuine economic turnaround.

She expressed her strong belief that only a transformative leader like John Dramani Mahama the NDC flagbearer can propel Ghana towards progress and prosperity.

Professor Opoku Agyemang criticized the ruling government, arguing that President Akuffo Addo’s government has failed to deliver on its promises and that the NDC has the vision, best candidate, and competent team to move the country forward and meet the needs of Ghanaians.

She said many Ghanaians are eager for change and improvement in their living standards.

Professor Opoku Agyemang encouraged Ghanaians to think critically about their choices at the polls and to choose a path that leads to a better quality of life for all citizens.

Some community members who attended the community engagements expressed their yearning for improved living standards and a brighter future.

Many at the mini-community durbar spoke about the challenges they face daily, including rising costs of living and dwindling job opportunities.

Her first stop was at Buduburam in the Gomoa East constituency, where a community engagement was held, market women were enthusiastic in their support for John Mahama, declaring their backing for the NDC flagbearer.

The next, stop was at Awutu Senya West, where a large crowd gathered to meet Professor Opoku Agyemang.

The atmosphere was electric, with community members eager to hear her message.

At the University of Cape Coast campus, Professor Opoku Agyemang engaged with members of the NDC Proforum, including artisans.

The discussion centered on the NDC’s plans for job creation and economic empowerment.

In Fante Yankumasi, in the Assin South constituency, Professor Opoku Agyemang campaigned at a local market, receiving overwhelming support from the traders.

At the Ngresi community, also in the Assin South constituency, some chiefs endorsed John Mahama at a durbar, pledging their support for the NDC.

At the Elmina, the hometown of former NDC leader, late president John Atta Mills, the chiefs in pouring libation to offer prays for Professor Opoku Agyemang, invoked the spirit of late President Atta Mills to back the NDC’s victory.

A subsequent community durbar was held which was attended by a large crowd of fisherfolks.
