The Minister for Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed that the Attorney-General, Dr Dominic Ayine will soon commence the prosecution of individuals implicated in the findings of Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL).
This development comes as team ORAL, chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, prepares to submit its report to President John Dramani Mahama.
The report is expected to reveal the outcome of ORAL’s investigations into alleged corruption and misappropriation of state assets.
ORAL Chair Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa reveals that ORAL will now fall under the Attorney-General’s office which will have the mandate to take action against those found culpable through ORAL investigations.
Appearing before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Friday, January 31, the North Tongu Lawmaker said “As for ORAL, it has come to stay…we will be handing over our report soon to His Excellency the President with his Attorney-General.”
Meanwhile, the Attorney-General Dr Dominic Ayine has said he would be meeting members of ORAL to receive the information they have gathered so far.
ORAL’s investigations have been at work since its formation by then President-elect John Dramani Mahama, with the team receiving information from the public and validating this information before forwarding it to the President.
