The Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, has provided fresh updates on government’s plan to re-establish a National Air Carrier, a flagship project expected to position Ghana as a competitive hub in West African aviation.
Speaking at the Government Accountability Series, the Minister disclosed that a ten-member Task Force was inaugurated to oversee the initiative.
The Task Force, made up of industry experts and key stakeholders, has already developed a comprehensive work plan and submitted an inception report to guide the process.

According to Hon. Nikpe, an interim report will soon be presented, focusing on finalising both the business model and the operational framework for the airline.
This, he explained, will ensure the project is structured in a way that guarantees sustainability, efficiency, and long-term profitability.
The establishment of a National Air Carrier is expected to create jobs, improve Ghana’s global aviation footprint, and open up new opportunities in trade, tourism, and investment.
