Ghana Post Company Limited has announced major strides in service delivery and international recognition, cementing its position as one of Africa’s leading postal and logistics providers.
Speaking at the company’s first staff durbar in Accra, Managing Director Rita Sraha said Ghana Post has expanded its operational capacity, improved efficiency, and received several prestigious international awards for performance and quality management.
Despite temporary service disruptions caused by the suspension of duty-free shipments under the U.S. de minimis policy, Ms Sraha said operations have resumed in 15 key post offices nationwide, with successful parcel lifts to the United States and continuous monitoring of industrial actions affecting the Canada Post.
In a bid to improve customer convenience, working hours at 18 designated post offices have been extended, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
Ghana Post’s Government-to-Government business also continues to thrive, with successful delivery of new chip-embedded passports, driver’s licences, and the ongoing sale of Ghana Armed Forces recruitment forms.
“As of 13th October 2025, Ghana Post has delivered 72,507 passports across the country and thousands of other security documents on behalf of banks, the DVLA, and the courts,” Ms Sraha disclosed.
These achievements have earned Ghana Post a series of international awards, including:
- 2025 Quality Management Certificate (Silver Award) with a score of 94%;
- 2024 Customer Care Award — 2nd in Africa and 6th worldwide;
- EMS Excellence Performance Award (Bronze) — the only African country in that category; and
- 2024 Postal Mail Security Certification (Gold Award).
“These recognitions affirm Ghana Post’s commitment to global standards and our drive for excellence,” Ms Sraha said.
She added that management would continue to strengthen digital infrastructure, expand partnerships with government and private institutions, and enhance last-mile delivery services to sustain the company’s growth momentum.
