The Assembly Member for the McCarthy North Electoral Area, Hon. Felicia Obenewah, has donated assorted items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Weija Leprosarium as part of her corporate social responsibility to support vulnerable members of society.
The donation exercise took place on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the premises of the Weija Leprosarium. Hon. Obenewah was accompanied by colleague Assembly Members, members of the Ward Working Committee, and Constituency Executives, demonstrating collective support for the humanitarian initiative.
Presenting the items, Hon. Felicia Obenewah said the gesture was motivated by compassion and a desire to contribute to the welfare of residents of the Leprosarium, especially during the festive season.
“This donation is our small way of showing love and solidarity with the people here at the Weija Leprosarium.
As leaders, we have a responsibility to support institutions that care for the less privileged in our society,” she stated.
She further noted that the support aligns with her commitment to social development and inclusive governance within the McCarthy North Electoral Area and beyond.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Weija Leprosarium, Rev. Father Campbell expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Obenewah and her team for the timely support.
“We are deeply grateful for this kind gesture. These items will go a long way in improving the living conditions of the residents here. We thank Hon. Felicia Obenewah and her delegation for remembering us,” Rev. Father Campbell said.
The donation was also described as a call to action for other stakeholders and well-meaning individuals to extend support to charitable institutions, particularly during festive periods when needs are often heightened.
The visit ended with brief interactions with residents of the Leprosarium, spreading messages of hope, care, and encouragement ahead of the Christmas celebrations.
