President John Dramani Mahama returned home on Tuesday night from Nairobi, where he participated in the Africa Forward Summit co-hosted by President William Ruto and President Emmanuel Macron.
During the Summit, President Mahama took part in a high-level plenary session on energy and green transitions, as well as a working lunch focused on African financial institutions.
The President also co-chaired a session on rethinking healthcare delivery and financing in Africa, where he delivered both opening and closing remarks on the need for stronger collaboration and sustainable investment in the health sector across the continent.
On the sidelines of the Summit, President Mahama held bilateral discussions with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area, and officials of the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
The meetings focused on strengthening partnerships in areas including economic recovery, trade integration, agriculture, healthcare financing and sustainable development across Africa.
