Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, is set to participate in the Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting at the prestigious Lotte Hotel in Seoul, as part of efforts to deepen diplomatic, economic, and development cooperation between African nations and the Republic of Korea.
The high-level meeting will bring together foreign ministers and senior government officials from across Africa and South Korea to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral and multilateral partnerships in key sectors, including trade, investment, technology, infrastructure, education, health, and sustainable development.
Mr. Ablakwa is expected to use the platform to advance Ghana’s foreign policy objectives, promote investment opportunities, and strengthen relations between Ghana and South Korea. His participation underscores Ghana’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that support economic growth, industrialization, and job creation.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity for African leaders to engage with their South Korean counterparts on emerging global challenges, including climate change, food security, digital transformation, and peace and security.
Officials say Ghana will highlight its efforts to attract foreign direct investment and promote regional integration through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), whose secretariat is headquartered in Accra.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Foreign Affairs Minister is expected to hold bilateral discussions with South Korean government officials and representatives of major Korean companies to explore opportunities for increased cooperation and investment in Ghana.
The Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting forms part of South Korea’s broader engagement strategy with the African continent and serves as a key platform for dialogue and collaboration between the two regions.
Observers believe the gathering will further strengthen diplomatic ties and pave the way for new partnerships aimed at promoting mutual prosperity and sustainable development.
