An advocacy group Governance Watch is calling on the Speaker of Parliament to grant permission to the police to investigate Awutu Senya East MP Hawa Koomson.
This act, the group believes will amount to stripping off the immunity that would have made it possible for the MP to be successfully investigated and prosecuted.

A Spokesperson of the group, Stephen Kwabena Attuh said the MP who claimed to have fired a warning shot at a registration center in Kasoa in self-defense has displayed a character unworthy of an MP.
There is pressure on the MP to resign her post as Minister of Special Development Initiatives but Stephen Kwabena Attuh says the President should have acted.
He told Sena Nombo on the Gold Power Drive both the Speaker and the President need to act to salvage the reputation of the legislative and executive arms of government.
Stephen Kwabena Attuh expressed worry with the unresponsiveness of the President who he believes should have fired the minister by now.
