The Flagbearer and Leader of the National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama has bemoaned the negative impact “middlemen” have had on premix fuel distribution.
According to him, the operations of these “middlemen” in the supply chain of premix fuel have created artificial shortages that are frustrating the operations of fishermen across the country.
Former President John Mahama said the phenomenon of “middlemen” in the premix fuel supply chain is the creation of the Nana Akufo-Addo administration.
The NDC Flagbearer has therefore promised to remove these “middle men” and put in place structures that ensured the direct supply of premix fuel to the fishermen immediately he assumes office if the fisher-folks join Ghanaians to give him the nod.

Mr. Mahama gave the assurance when he addressed various meetings with chiefs, organized groups and members and supporters of the NDC at Old Chantan, Bomoden, Damanko, Siibi and Kpassa as part of his three-day tour of the Oti Region which ended on Monday.
The heavily subsidized Premix fuel is an important commodity in the operations of fishermen across the country.
He indicated that if given the nod, his government will facilitate the acquisition and supply of fishing inputs such as outboard motors and fishing nets on credit to fishers.
The move, he is convinced will ease the financial burden on fishers and ensure they operate smoothly.
