Agyemang, today, set agog Mankessim, a key business district in the Central region with a firm assurance that the next NDC government will modernise the Mankessim central market.
A mammoth crowd of residents, traders, buyers and commuters at the Mankessim market burst into jubilation as the Running Mate, who is touring the region, announced the NDC's plan for the market during her interaction with the market leaders.
She informed the market leaders that the market redevelopment project, has been captured in the party's manifesto, and would be rebuilt into a multi-purpose trading centre like the Kejetia market in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
"We have good plans for the people of Mankessim.This market will be turned into a international standard market with facilities such as day care centre for traders' wards, information centre, clinic, security and fire service posts, among others," she said.
The Running Mate advised the constituents of the area against being deceived by other politicians who offer sweet promises that are not founded on any thorough plan, saying, that the NDC always fulfils its promises.
"The NDC does not just promise. We back our promises with delivery," she said.
According to her, there is tangible evidence of NDC's fulfilled promises across the region, and therefore urged them to trust the NDC with their votes.
Samuel Ofosu Ampofu, National Chairman of the NDC, who is part of the delegation accompanying the Running Mate, said the NDC has the best development plan for the market and the Mankessim township in general.
"We have done it before. We know how to do it, so we shall do it for the people of Mankessim," he said.
Madam Agnes Moore, the Market Queen, expressed delight for the consideration offer the market in the NDC manifesto.
She said they would continue to pray for the market project to come to fruition, and therefore assured the NDC of their support.
