Former Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) Yaw Brogya Genfi has called on Parliament to impeach President Nana Akufo-Addo for dishonesty with respect to the cutting of sod for the construction of a District Hospital at Trede in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Shanti Region.

Mr. Genfi said that nearly a year ago, sod was cut for the construction of the same Project in which President Akufo-Addo has now cut sod again.

For him, this amounts to dishonesty, for which the President must be impeached to lessen the anger of Ghanaians.

“I think the President should be removed from office as the level of dishonesty of this government should further not be entertained. In September 2020, the government cut sod for a District Hospital Project in Trede in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of Ashanti Region. After a year of no show, the President carries his Health Minister back to the same town in the same District of Ashanti to cut sod for another Hospital project.

Our representatives in Parliament must as a matter of urgency initiate processes of impeachment against the President to assuage the anger of Ghanaians,” he said.

President Akufo-Addo as part of his government’s aim to build 111 new hospitals ( both district and regional hospitals) yesterday, August 17, 2021 cut sod for the construction of a District Hospital for the Atwima Kwanwoma District in the Ashanti. In September 2020, Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman-Manu cut sod for the construction of the same hospital but no actual construction took place”
