The Concerned Staff of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) are calling on President John Dramani Mahama to appoint Dr. Edem Segbefia as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NHIA.
In a press release the President of the Concerned Staff of NHIA, Stephen Benson urged President John Dramani Mahama to recognize Dr. Eden Segbefia a dedicated person with the potential to lead the National Health Insurance Authority
They expressed their unwavering support for Dr. Segbefia, highlighting his qualifications, experience, and understanding of the Authority’s operations.
Dr. Segbefia’s extensive service at the NHIA has given him a deep understanding of the institution’s vision and mission.
The group believes he has the capability to address challenges within the Authority, including the lack of proper conditions of service, which has led to apathy among staff.
The Concerned Staff emphasized the importance of appointing someone who resonates with junior staff, advocating for a leader who understands their language and concerns.
They described Dr. Segbefia’s tenure at the NAIA and his leadership qualities as a “recipe for growth,” expressing optimism that his appointment would elevate the NHIA to become one of the best government subsidiaries in Ghana.
However, it’s worth noting that the current CEO of NHIA is Dr. DaCosta Aboagye, who was appointed in November 2024. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye served as the CEO
