BOSTenergies has reaffirmed its commitment to improving healthcare delivery in Ghana with a donation of GH₵1 million to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), strengthening the Fund’s mission to provide life-saving treatment for Ghanaians battling chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

The donation will support the Ghana Medical Trust Fund’s work in financing specialised healthcare for patients who are unable to afford treatment, while expanding access to critical medical interventions and easing the financial burden on thousands of families across the country.

Presenting the cheque, the Managing Director of BOSTenergies, Afetsi Awoonor, said the company was proud to partner with an institution that is already making a profound difference in the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.

He said “healthcare is one of the greatest investments any nation can make. At BOSTenergies, we believe every Ghanaian deserves the opportunity to receive quality medical care regardless of their financial circumstances. The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is providing hope to people who had almost given up, and we are proud to support this noble national initiative.”

Mr. Awoonor noted that the donation reflects the company’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and called on other corporate organisations to join the growing national movement to support specialised healthcare.

He emphasized that “this contribution is not simply a donation but an investment in lives, families and the future of our nation. We encourage Corporate Ghana to come on board because together we can transform healthcare and ensure that no patient is denied treatment because of cost.”

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, the Administrator, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, expressed profound appreciation to BOSTenergies for demonstrating confidence in the Trust Fund’s mission and for choosing to stand with patients facing some of the country’s most difficult health challenges.

“This generous donation will translate directly into lives saved. It will help us support more patients requiring specialised treatment for chronic diseases, provide hope to families who have exhausted every option, and strengthen our efforts to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all Ghanaians”, she noted

She described the contribution as another strong vote of confidence in the Trust Fund and said partnerships with the private sector remain essential to achieving universal access to specialised healthcare.

Ms. Obuobia Darko-Opoku emphasized that “we are deeply grateful to BOSTenergies for believing in our vision. Every cedi donated represents hope for someone waiting for chemotherapy, dialysis, heart surgery, brain surgery or another life-saving intervention. Together, we are building a healthcare system where no Ghanaian is left behind because they cannot afford treatment.”

She also encouraged more businesses, institutions and individuals to support the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, noting that contributions are 100 percent tax-deductible, giving companies the opportunity to fulfil their corporate social responsibility while enjoying significant tax benefits.

The donation comes at a critical time as Ghana continues to strengthen sustainable healthcare financing for chronic diseases. It also reinforces the growing importance of public-private partnerships in expanding access to specialised healthcare across the country.
