George Agyenim Boateng, the brother of Lois Abena Koranteng, a 24-year-old KNUST graduate who died mysteriously at Takoradi during an office trip, has challenged the Ghana Police Service regarding what he says are ‘lies’ and inconsistencies related to the autopsy conducted on his late sister following her death.

George Agyenim Boateng, in a series of Facebook posts, is questioning the transparency and accuracy of the autopsy findings reported by the police service.

According to him, a statement by the police indicated that the autopsy was conducted on June 8, 2024, the day Lois Koranteng died but his checks reveal that the autopsy was rather conducted on June 11, 2024, four days after the incident.

Additionally, he has raised doubts about the police’s assertion that there were no blood stains on the deceased’s body when it was retrieved from the hotel pool.

George Boateng challenged this detail too, stating that he has evidence to disprove the police’s claim.

The following are the ‘lies’ listed by the deceased’s brother against the Ghana Police Service;

  1. Ghana Police Service, why did you choose to lie to Ghanaians in fact the whole world that you did the autopsy on 8th June which means the same day Lois was found dead in the pool, meanwhile it was done on 11th June 2024. Can you come out and explain to Ghanaians?
  2. Why did you also lie that there were no blood stains found on Lois when she was found dead in the pool? I have pictures to prove.
    Can you come out and explain if the “reddish liquid” which was from her nose was palm oil or cloth die.
  3. Before and after your “planned” visit to the family just to cover the shame of your dilettante efforts concerning Lois mysterious death you have never called, emailed or texted the family of any assurance or briefed us about your investigation you claim you are doing.
  4. Should I tell Ghanaians that your “cyber or IT gurus policemen have failed to unlock Lois phone till date?
  5. Tell Ghanaians the relationship you have with Icon Energy .

Following the public outcry over Lois Koranteng’s death, the Ghana Police Service, in a statement on July 11, revealed that an autopsy to determine the cause of death was conducted on June 8 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, in the presence of the deceased’s relatives.

The police statement further disclosed the cause of death to be asphyxia, severe pulmonary edema and drowning in a pool.

The statement additionally stated that an investigation had been launched into the incident.
