The Deputy Director General of Operations at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Hon. Teddy Safori Addi has embarked on a working visit to Emergency Operation Centres (EOCs) in the Upper East and Upper West Regions (Wa, Lawra, Jirapa, Nandom and Zebilla)
The visit is part of NADMO’s continued efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and enhance operational coordination across the country.
As part of his itinerary, Hon. Teddy Safori Addi paid a courtesy call on the Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Akamugri Donatus Atanga, to brief him on NADMO’s activities in the region and discuss areas of collaboration to improve disaster response mechanisms.
The Regional Minister commended NADMO’s efforts and reaffirmed the Regional Coordinating Council’s support for disaster management initiatives.
Hon. Teddy Addi also interacted with regional and district officers during his tour of the EOCs.
He reviewed emergency response plans, assessed the logistical readiness of the centres, and encouraged the teams to remain vigilant, especially as the rainy season approaches, a period often marked by flooding and related challenges in the northern regions.
He assured the teams of NADMO’s commitment to providing continuous support through training, resources, and improved infrastructure to ensure timely and efficient responses to emergencies.
The visit highlighted the importance of strong regional coordination and the role of local leadership in building resilient communities.
