Contributions to the Children Support Fund, set up for the welfare of children who lost their parents in the 6th August helicopter crash, have now reached GHS 3,576,600.00 and US$20,000.00, according to the latest public update from the Fund’s Coordinator, Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs.
Between 19th and 28th August 2025, several individuals and institutions made donations in support of the cause. Notable contributors during the period include Ghana Airport Ltd, ARB Apex Bank PLC, STL Foundation, Olam Agric, Fidelity Bank Ghana, ADB Bank, GLICO General Insurance, and the National Insurance Commission, alongside private donors such as Kennedy Hedoe, Peter Adongo, Mensah Michael, Appaul Wiredu Lateef, Samuel Hodalor, and Dauda Iddi.
Dr. Sawyerr reiterated that the Fund was established to ensure the long-term welfare of the affected children and expressed appreciation to all who have shown solidarity so far.
“We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from both corporate institutions and individuals. Every contribution goes directly toward safeguarding the future of these children,” she stated.
