The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, has met with key stakeholders in the power sector to assess the current state of the sector and address recent developments affecting electricity supply.
The meeting focused largely on the widespread power outage that occurred following a disturbance in the power system on July 29, 2026.
Dr Jinapor said he has directed the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) to submit a comprehensive report outlining the circumstances that led to the disruption, the response measures taken, and the corrective actions required to improve the resilience and reliability of the country’s power system.
The Minister emphasised the need for coordinated efforts among stakeholders to strengthen Ghana’s energy infrastructure and ensure a stable and dependable power supply.
He added that the government remains committed to building a stronger power sector capable of supporting economic growth, enhancing business operations, and improving the quality of life of Ghanaians.
