President of Policy Think Tank IMANI Africa Franklin Cudjoe has said that the Executive Arm of Government has the power to end the stalemate and fights in Parliament over the introduction of the e-levy.
He contends that the President providing concessions will bring an end to the fights witnessed for sometime now.
He made this known in a post shared on social media whiles reacting to the fight between the Majority and Minority in Parliament on Monday December 20, 2021.
Franklin Cudjoe said “Only the Executive can help end the stalemate. The President should man up and offer concessions on the E-levy”.
Parliament once again witnessed a free-for-all fight on Monday night after the Deputy Speaker of Parliament vacated his seat for the Second Deputy Speaker so he can cast his vote.
Meanwhile, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has in an interview with Accra-based Joy FM indicated that was not the case.
He indicates that the Deputy Speaker of Parliament was feeling under the weather and needed to excuse himself but that was misconstrued by the Minority who decided to engage violence in the lawmaking house.
