In this spirit, the government announced its support for exploring any proposed peace initiative aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government emphasizes the country’s belief that any framework prioritizing dialogue, mutual respect, and an immediate cessation of hostilities warrants serious consideration by the international community.
According to the statement, while not endorsing specific details of the proposal mentioned, the Government believes that such initiatives are vital for protecting civilian lives, upholding the principle of territorial integrity, and cultivating the necessary conditions for long-term reconciliation.
It further revealed that Ghana, which possesses a longstanding and proud tradition of international peacekeeping and mediation, confirms its readiness to actively support any constructive efforts that advance these crucial goals.
The Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called upon all involved parties to approach negotiations in good faith, urging them to prioritize the welfare and security of their people over existing political differences.
