President John Dramani Mahama will undertake a five-day working visit to the Republic of Korea from March 10 to March 14, 2026, as part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations and strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
The President is expected to depart Accra on Sunday and will hold high-level engagements with top officials of the Korean government and business community.
According to the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the visit will include a bilateral meeting with the President of South Korea, Lee Jae-myung, as well as a separate meeting with the Speaker of the Korean National Assembly, Woo Won-shik.
“President Mahama will use the visit to strengthen the longstanding relations between Ghana and the Republic of Korea and explore new opportunities for cooperation in trade, industry, and investment,” Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said.
During the visit, President Mahama will also participate in a ship-naming ceremony at the shipyard of Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan.
The President will further deliver a speech at a conferment ceremony at Yonsei University, one of South Korea’s leading academic institutions.
In addition to official engagements, President Mahama will interact with members of the Ghanaian community living, studying, and working in South Korea.
“He will also hold a dinner meeting with chief executives and business leaders to explore partnerships that will enhance investment flows and economic cooperation between the two countries,” the Presidential Spokesperson added.
The visit is expected to reinforce diplomatic ties between Ghana and South Korea while opening new avenues for collaboration in areas such as technology, manufacturing, shipping, and education.
