The Government of Ghana has expressed deep concern and strong condemnation regarding the unprovoked Israeli attack on the State of Qatar.
The attack according to a press statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, resulted in casualties, loss of life, and significant property damage.
The statement highlighted that the airstrikes constitute a blatant violation of international law and disrespect for Qatar’s sovereignty.
Ghana, according to the statement believes this aggression severely undermines the ongoing pursuit of peace between the states of Palestine and Israel.
“His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and the People of Ghana stand in solidarity with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the People of Qatar in these difficult times.” The statement read.
The government however praised Qatar’s relentless and commendable commitment to facilitating a resolution to the conflict, urging that this reprehensible incident not be allowed to impede Qatar’s vital role in negotiating a peaceful diplomatic resolution.
