The Government of Ghana has donated 40 metric tonnes of Made-in-Ghana cocoa products to the people of Gaza in Palestine as part of a humanitarian assistance package aimed at alleviating hardship in the region.
The donation was formally presented by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama to the Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana at a brief ceremony held today at the Presidency.
“This gesture is a demonstration of Ghana’s solidarity with the Palestinian people during these difficult times. It is rooted in our longstanding commitment to global humanitarianism and justice,” President Mahama stated during the presentation.
The humanitarian package consists of high-quality cocoa-based food items produced locally, showcasing Ghana’s commitment to using homegrown resources to support global causes.
Also present at the event were the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, senior government officials, and representatives of the Palestinian Embassy in Ghana.
The Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Abdul Fatah Ahmed Khalil Alasattari expressed deep gratitude on behalf of his people, noting that the support from Ghana reflects not only compassion but also the strength of the historical ties between the two nations.
This donation adds to Ghana’s record of international solidarity and further strengthens its role as a responsible actor in global humanitarian and diplomatic engagements.
