Radio and Television personality Afia Pokuaa known popularly as Vim Lady says Ghana is a crazy country not worth dying for.
To him, in the wake of Kidney diseases, a country that has taxed its citizens should be able to have a fund to support people suffering from such disease but that has not been the case.
“This is a crazy country. You’ve paid tax all these years but when you are sick of kidney disease or cancer unless you go to Utv or Adom TV or Okay FM to cry for help. What an insult, they say we are royals but that is the case. Indeed if we are royals why can’t the nation help us when we are in need,” she questioned.
She expressed worry over the fact that after John Agyekum Kufour introduced the National Health Insurance Scheme to cover certain diseases, no other government seem to have been innovative enough to introduce other funds that will support the people of Ghana.
To Vim Lady, it’s time the Government of Ghana put the taxes of the people to good use and to serve the needs of the masses rather than a select few in society
