Social Commentator Kwame Asare Obeng known popularly as Kwame A Plus has asked the people of Ghana to apologise to John Dramani Mahama.
According to him, John Dramani Mahama was referred to as incompetent because the country could not employ graduates in the country.
A-Plus said during the period, the President was blamed and tagged with different names but currently, the Finance Minister says the Ghanaian Youth should create jobs for themselves rather than seeking government employment but no one is seen as incompetent.
A Plus who made this known in a post shared on Facebook said “
“We called John Mahama incompetent because Government was not employing. Today we are being told that the government payroll is full but nobody is incompetent. John Mahama deserves a national apology.”
Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta has encouraged the youth of Ghana to be entrepreneurs rather than wait for the government to employ them.
According to him, the payroll for the government sector is full and therefore it’s imperative that the youth use the knowledge acquired over the four years to impact lives and change their stories.
He was speaking to Graduans at the University for Professional Studies
He said “… most people look for a job from government or state institutions, but that payroll is full. I can tell you that because we are spending about 60 percent of our revenue on remunerating some 650,000 people, and that is not sustainable”.
