The Minister for Transport has disclosed that work is underway to replace the ageing Air Traffic Control Tower at Kotoka International Airport with a modern, state-of-the-art facility.
The current tower, which predates Ghana’s independence, is being phased out to make way for a safer and more efficient structure.
Construction of the new tower is already 20 percent complete.
When finished, the facility will house a Visual Control Room, Approach Radar Room, Technical Equipment Room, and Operations Room, designed to meet international aviation standards and improve flight safety and efficiency at Ghana’s busiest airport.
