Ibrahim Jajah, the Greater Accra Regional Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to strengthen party unity and grassroots mobilisation as he seeks to become the party’s next Regional Chairman.
Mr Jajah made the pledge after going through the vetting process at the NDC Greater Accra Regional Office, where aspirants seeking various regional executive positions are undergoing screening ahead of the party’s internal elections.
Speaking to the media after his vetting on Friday, October 16, 2026, Mr Jajah said his experience at the regional, constituency and branch levels had equipped him with the necessary background to lead the party in the region.

He said his ambition was to build on his work as Regional Vice Chairman and deepen collaboration among party members to strengthen the NDC’s organisational structures.
Mr Jajah also outlined his parliamentary ambition for the region, saying he would work towards securing the four remaining parliamentary seats in Greater Accra.
According to him, the party’s parliamentary representation in the region increased from 12 to 29 seats during his tenure as Regional Vice Chairman.
He said sustaining that progress and securing additional seats would require greater cooperation with constituency executives, branch officers and polling station executives, whom he described as critical to the party’s electoral fortunes.
The chairmanship aspirant stressed that a united party, supported by an active grassroots structure, would be essential to achieving the NDC’s broader objective of winning political power in 2028.
He pledged to bring party members together, strengthen internal collaboration and ensure that the concerns of grassroots members receive attention under his leadership if elected.
Mr Jajah also expressed appreciation to party executives, constituency chairpersons, supporters, family members and friends for their prayers and encouragement throughout his campaign.
He appealed to delegates to support his candidature in the regional chairmanship contest, saying he was committed to working with all stakeholders to advance the party’s interests in Greater Accra.
Meanwhile, other aspirants seeking various positions within the NDC Greater Accra Regional Executive Committee were also at the regional office to undergo the vetting process.
The exercise is expected to continue, with some aspirants scheduled to appear before the vetting committee on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
