President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ‘s Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Nominee for Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region Mr Sarfo Kantanka has been rejected by the assembly members on the second consecutive time, with 58% of Assembly members voting No.
Out of the 26 assembly members who voted today November 1, 2021, 10 assembly members voted YES, 15 assembly members voted NO and a rejected ballot.
Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo reported that some angry youth of the Juaben Community who came to support the President MCE nominee threatened to attack the assembly members for failing to approve Mr Sarfo Kantanka.
The assembly members including government representatives were hooted at for rejecting the MCE nominee Mr Sarfo Kantanka.
The assembly members are currently being held hostage at the Juaben Municipal assembly where the election was held as they fear they could be attacked if they dare try to move to their homes.
The Juaben District police command has beefed up the security situation to ensure all the assembly members are safe.
The Juaben Youth in their red armbands has threatened to embark on a demonstration against the assembly members.
Meanwhile, the President has revoked the appointments of four persons who were serving as government appointees in the Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region.
