The Chief Executive Officer of the Export and Import Bank Ghana (Exim Bank Ghana), Mr. Sylvester Mensah, has reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to playing a pivotal role in the growth and development of Ghanaian businesses.
Speaking at the Kwahu Business Forum held in Mpraeso, Mr. Mensah described Exim Bank Ghana as a strategic partner poised to empower enterprises across all sectors of the economy.
“We are here to support your growth,” he declared, addressing entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders.
“Whether you are a startup, small, medium, or large-scale exporter, Exim Bank Ghana is your development partner.”
Mr. Mensah outlined the bank’s strategic vision for the next four years, which he said is anchored on an “Investment for Jobs” agenda, one that emphasizes both public sector leadership and private sector-driven growth.
As part of this strategy, Exim Bank Ghana will focus on key sectors to stimulate economic development and create sustainable employment.
Priority areas include increasing food production, advancing agro-processing capabilities, promoting import substitution, and expanding the garment and textiles industry.
“Our objective is to help Ghanaian businesses build competitiveness, reduce reliance on imports, and expand their capacity for export,” he added.
“Through this framework, we aim to create a balanced trade environment while supporting local innovation and productivity.”
Exim Bank Ghana has long served as a key financial institution supporting Ghana’s import and export ecosystem. Under Mr.
Mensah’s leadership, the bank is enhancing its role by aligning with national development goals and collaborating with local businesses to achieve economic transformation.
The Kwahu Business Forum serves as a vital platform for policy dialogue, investment promotion, and networking among entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and policymakers.
The presence of major financial institutions like Exim Bank Ghana underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in driving Ghana’s economic future.
With a clear roadmap and renewed focus, Exim Bank Ghana is expected to play a significant role in facilitating trade, creating jobs, and supporting Ghanaian enterprises to thrive both locally and globally.
