The Government of Ghana, through the Chief of Staff, has received a petition presented by the Minority in Parliament to the Jubilee House.
The petition, which concerns electoral violence and other happenings in the country, was presented by the leadership of the Minority in Parliament and their members on July 24, 2025.
The petition was received by the Chief of Staff, flanked by his deputies and other leading members of the government.
Presenting the petition, Frank Annor-Dompreh indicated that they expect some actions from the presidency
We are also worried about galamsey. It was one of the messages that you trumpeted with all the promise, rightly or wrongly, and now it is getting out of hand. My Chief of Staff, you are an Easterner, and when you are travelling to Nkawkaw, the galamseyers are coming on the highway. We are told our water bodies are polluted, and even farm products are being reported to have metallic contents in them. We are here to present this petition and to appeal your patriotic intervention in this matter,” he said.
“We are told you have two-thirds in Parliament, but you also need the minority in Parliament to function. Now, if we don’t hear anything and it is business as usual, this is just the beginning of a series of actions we are going to stage in this country. We won’t do anything out of malice,” Annor-Dompreh said while presenting the petition.”
On his part, Deputy Chief of Staff, Stan Dogbe received the petition and assured the Minority of forwarding it to the president.
The minority in Parliament moved from the Jubilee House and marched to meet the Diplomatic Corps, where they also presented a similar petition seeking the diplomatic corps to take action.
They presented evidence to back their claims of electoral violence in the country in the form of videos and leaflets.
