Member for Asuogyaman Thomas Ampem Nyarko is seeking to extend his history making his feat by becoming the first MP of the constituency to serve a third term.
The incumbent made history when he emerged winner of the 2020 parliamentary elections in Asuogyaman to become the first MP of the constituency to serve a second term.
Until his victory in 2020, no MP of Asuogyaman had won a second term bid.
The MP on 19 March 2023 formalized his bid for the third tem by having his nomination for the parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress successfully filed at the Constituency office of the opposition party.

The nomination was filed on his behalf by Emmanuel Miletso, Philip Ahiaka, Elorm Glive and Worlanyo Agbenyo.
To earn an opportunity to set another record, Thomas Ampem Nyarko has to first secure the mandate of the delegates of the NDC in Asuogyaman by emerging victorious in primaries to be held in his constituency on 13 May 2023.
In a statement sent to www.radiogoldlive.com, the campaign team of the Asuogyaman MP expressed hope that the “good delegates of Asuogyaman will recognize his hardwork, even as he admits there is a lot of work to be done to make Asuogyaman a tourist destination in Africa.”
“He has committed to the service of his constituents and has refused to be deterred by the hardship imposed on Ghanaians by the clueless NPP government. Thomas Ampem Nyarko remains determined to alleviate hardship in the constituency through his various social intervention programs such as the Youth in Apprenticeship, Education and Support for Traders programs,” the team stated.
The Asuogyaman MP believes he is best candidate to hand the NPP their third consecutive defeat in the constituency in the 2024 elections and retain the seat for the NDC and push the party to win the Presidential elections.
