Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang electrified the Dorma Central Market in a spirited effort to rally support for John Mahama ahead of the December 7 elections.
Prof. Opoku Agyemang who is Currently touring the Bono Region was accompanied by both national and regional party executives as she navigated the market, engaging traders and listening to their concerns.
A large crowd gathered to welcome her, with some of the traders expressing their excitement over her visit and their strong backing for John Mahama, the NDC 2024 flagbearer.
During her interactions, Professor Agyemang reiterated the NDC’s past achievements in developing essential infrastructure, such as modern market facilities, during their time in government.
“We need a president who respects and understands women, you deserve to work in environment that is safe and accessible,” she said.
Prof. Opoku Agyemang told the market women that in a future NDC administration, the party will prioritize the construction of modern market centers tailored specifically for women.
She acknowledged the difficulties market women face and assured them that their voices would play a crucial role in future policy-making within the next NDC government.
The echoes of cheers from traders affirmed their interest in John Mahama’s vision and the NDC’s 2024 agenda to reset Ghana.
The market women and traders expressed their appreciation for Prof. Opoku Agyemang’s visit to the Dorma Central Market.
A plantain seller who only mentioned her name as Auntie Akosua said “It’s refreshing to see a politician who truly cares and listens to our needs.”
Prof. Opoku Agyemang urged party supporters to unite and share the message of change as the campaign progresses.
