NDC Weija-Gbawe Constituency Chairman Hopeful, Patrick Asford Boadu, has called for unity, grassroots mobilisation and inclusive leadership as the constituency prepares for the 2028 general elections.
According to him, the constituency needs a leader who can bring the various groups and interests within the party together, reconnect with the grassroots and ensure that branch executives and ordinary party members are actively involved in the party’s activities.
Mr. Boadu, who is seeking to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, said effective grassroots leadership would be critical to mobilising the party for victory in the 2028 elections.
He said his leadership vision is anchored on unity, empowerment, transparency, accountability and a stronger connection between the constituency leadership and the branches.
“The NDC Weija-Gbawe Constituency needs a unifier and a grassroots leader who can carry the masses along. We need leadership that listens, consults and works with our branch executives and members at every level.”
Mr. Boadu said the party’s strength lies in its grassroots structures and therefore called for greater attention to the concerns, welfare and capacity of branch executives.
He said his proposed leadership would prioritise the branches and empower executives to become more effective in mobilising and communicating with party members.
“Branch executives are the foundation of our party. If we strengthen the branches, empower our executives and bring our people together, we can build the strong grassroots organisation needed to secure victory in 2028.”
Mr. Boadu further pledged to promote a culture of respectful political engagement, saying the party must avoid personal attacks and internal divisions that could weaken its organisational strength.
He said his objective is to rebrand, reform, rebuild, reset and rescue the NDC in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency through collective leadership and grassroots participation.
His campaign slogan is: “Branch Executives First! Empowerment is My Priority.”
Mr. Boadu said he would seek to unite the constituency’s various stakeholders and create an environment where every member feels valued and has an opportunity to contribute to the party’s development.
He maintained that the task ahead requires a leadership approach that combines political experience, grassroots engagement, transparency and a commitment to the collective interests of the constituency.
