Ghana’s Parliament has given its unanimous approval to four Members of Parliament nominated by President John Dramani Mahama for various deputy ministerial positions.
The consensus decision came after a recommendation from the Appointments Committee of Parliament, whose report was presented to the House on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
The newly approved deputy ministers are,
Dorcas Affo Toffey, MP for Jomoro, designated as Deputy Minister of Transport, James Gyakye Quayson, MP for Assin North, appointed as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Adam Sukparu, MP for Sissala West, set to become Deputy Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations.
and Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP for Essikado-Ketan, approved as Deputy Minister of Health.
The four nominees underwent vetting by the Appointments Committee on Friday, July 25, 2025, in line with Article 78(1) of Ghana’s Constitution.
Both Minority and Majority Caucuses expressed their confidence in the nominees’ individual qualities and their capacity to support their respective ministers in advancing national development.
